Final Presentation

This is what I propose.

I propose that the idea of Destiny USA will eventually happen. I believe that this can be proven because of the historical data showing Bob Congel and the pyramid companies continued efforts to develop the Syracuse area. Over the past twenty years the Pyramid Companies have investing many millions of dollars in the Syracuse area. They explicitly state ten projects in there displays. These projects are:

  1. The Cleaning of The Marley Scrap Yard and The Construction of Carousel Center at its Location.
  2. The Removal of Oil City and the Cleaning of the Soil at It's Site.
  3. The Re-development of Plum Court
  4. The Re-development of One Franklin Square
  5. The Construction of The Franklin Square Park
  6. The Creekwalk
  7. The Re-development of Bridgewater Place
  8. The Re-development of The Clinton Exchange
  9. The Re-development of Mission Landing
  10. The Re-development of the OM Edwards Building
All pictures here came from the Destiny USA display boards located in the commons level of carousel center.

Eminent Domain

"Your company isn't green, therefore you must close your doors"

That is pretty much what the 29 companies depicted by the small pins in the map here were told. Many of these companies have been around for many years and the new guy in town, Bob Congel, now wants there businesses closed, and their buildings demolished. Why? This is the site that has been chosen for the location of Destiny USA's $472 million dollar research and development center.

The foundations have been set for the construction of this research and development center. It looks as though The Pyramid Company is keeping the ball rolling on this project....

Is DestiNY really not doing anything?

Anyone from the Syracuse area knows all too well that DestiNY USA has been a hot topic for far too long. The word DestiNY was first made public in the Syracuse area over ten years ago. Since then all that Bob Congel and the Pyramid Company have successfully accomplished is driving a bunch of steel beams into the ground. Its been almost a year since the latest bit construction began back in summer of 2007, what is the reasoning behind it taking this company so long to do so little (McKnight, 2007)? One may believe that nothing has been being done at the DestiNY USA construction site. That is because nothing has been done, at least above ground. That doesn't mean that there hasn't been work being done. In less than a year the construction crews for DestiNY USA have driven 41 miles worth of steel into the ground (Moriarty, 2008). 41 miles of steel, that is almost 520,000 feet of steel. Just lately has the framing of "Phase one" began. Spokespeople for Destiny claim that they're still going to have the entire mall expansion built by the end of this year. Only time can tell if they're being facetious, but it seems as though that estimate is more of a dream (A little like the entire Destiny project).

A few interesting pictures comparing old Braun electronics with the new Apple products. Although they are 10 years newer, they have strikingly similar looks. I found this and many more interesting stuff at another blog on the internet:
